It’s safe to say that Penn State fans are bullish on 2024 season and all things considered seem to be fairly content with the results of the 2023 season.

All of that is based on our latest survey where more than 200 people shared their thoughts on Penn State’s 2023 season, the future of Penn State football and where and how they get their Penn State sports news.

Nits Meet 2023 Expectations

Roughly half (51 percent) of Penn State fans who answered our survey said that Penn State met their expectations when it came to on the field performance this year after going 10-2. On the flip side, 36 percent of those who answered say Penn State underachieved — particularly after losses to Ohio State and Michigan as James Franklin’s squad once again missed the College Football Playoff.

However, Penn State fans are optimistic about the future. When asked to share their confidence level on a scale of 1-5, 70 percent answered four or above on whether or not they felt Penn State would make the 2024 12-team playoff. But that doesn’t mean Penn State fans think Franklin will lead their squad to a national title.

When asked to rate their confidence that Franklin can win a national title at Penn State, Lions fans gave an average answer of 3.1 as 27 percent answered “3” as the top answer.

Although, when asked to share their confidence level of seeing a national championship parade down College Avenue, 30 percent of fans rated a “5” and 24 percent of fans answered with a “4.”
