Guess Penn State’s Kick Times In The Kick Time Guessing League

Move over fantasy football. There’s a new game in town.

OK, I am doubtful that this will catch on the same way fantasy sports have caught on in this country. In fact I am confident this will not catch on the same way.

But we have a new game here at SSSWS that we want you to take part in. For the first time ever, welcome to the Kick Time Guessing League.

In the pursuit of wondering what time Penn State football will play on which network, we’ve made a game for it. It’s pretty simple. Put your guesses in and hope you’re right.

We’re asking you to guess the kick time and network each Penn State game will appear on this year. The contest runs from now until the final kick time is announced, likely in late November. However, the sooner you get your pick in, the more points you can possibly score. There is a likelihood that a kick time or two will come out the week of May 11.

Then, likely around May 29 or May 30, you will get the first three kick times. Once they’re announced, you’ll no longer be able to enter a guess.

Here’s the other catch. You have to enter all of the picks at once. That’s how Steve and I do it every year on the podcast and blog. Welcome to the club.

The scoring is simple. Each game can earn you up to one point. A half point is awarded for the correct time and another half point is awarded for the correct network. A half plus a half equals one. If you guess a game will appear on NBC and it appears on Peacock, we’ll give you a quarter of a point.

A few other helpful hints. Generally speaking Penn State will appear on BTN twice per season – as per Big Ten rules – with one of the games being in conference. Additionally, that game at Temple will more than likely be on an ESPN network. The Northwestern game is being played on a Friday night, hence the more limited options.

If you want some data for your picks, be sure to check out Steve’s Penn State Football Spreadsheet. If you want to steal my picks (or Steve’s) you can do that here

Oh, and what will you win? The winner of the contest will win some Stuff and a $50 gift card to one of the stores downtown State College. Once we get a few entries, we will publish a leaderboard page which you’ll be able to check throughout the year.

Good luck!
