Responses from readers:

– Really glad Penn State has been giving their licensing out to a lot more brands than they used to so now with the switch to Adidas I will have plenty of other options to buy gear and not have to buy the trash that Adidas will put out.

– Nike doesn’t have the stranglehold on cool athletic wear like it did 10 years ago. This is probably fine but please bring the white trim back

– Being an Alumni and State College local, I am very close to the program. Based on what has been said by the Athletics department and other sources, Adidas is going to do more to promote our athletes and pay more to sponsor the university. The Nike tradition will always be remembered, however, winning comes first and this move sounds like something that will be a benefit for all of Penn State’s teams. I do have to admit that Nike is perceived as the “cooler” brand, but Nike is also tied to one of our conference competitors- Oregon.

– The Nike swoosh on Penn State gear was familiar, but I will guarantee as long as they keep it clean, the Adidas logo will be just fine.

– As long as Adidas is paying substantially more than Nike, it does not matter. If the offers were close, I would have preferred to stick with Nike. Hoping the Adidas money kicks in and can use that to get better recruits. As silly as it sounds, kids will be turned off by certain schools because of brands.

– Prefer Nike products, not a fan of Adidas at all.  I will buy Adidas because it says Penn State but I don’t care for the quality.  On the other hand, if Nike doesn’t want our business then ok, but I definitely prefer Nike sneakers over Adidas.

– Switching to Adidas in terms of fan gear will have a negligible effect on the fanbase IMO. I support the switch and the jersey sponsor patches as a way to remain competitive in NIL/player compensation.

– I don’t care what PSU wears. Just win games please.

– My primary goal is for the return of Russel Athletic knock-off jerseys specifically the #7 jersey for Penn State’s #1 son “Penn State”
